Hannah Elias Sbaity
Attorney at Law
Hannah Sbaity handles a wide range of catastrophic personal injury cases, criminal defense cases, and traffic violations. She is a Double Dawg—she attended the University of Georgia, majoring in political science and international affairs, and then earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. Since being licensed to practice law, Hannah has assisted in winning over $362 million for clients.
Hannah is an advocate of trauma-informed lawyering and strives to implement those skills with her clients. Her passion for helping survivors of injustice extends outside of work. She served as a committee member for the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy’s 27th Annual Cheer for Children Ball which raised over $250,000.00 to assist survivors of childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse, trafficking, and violence. She also actively advocates for survivor-friendly legislation and authors academic pieces about childhood sexual abuse.
Her work in the legal field began in high school. She attended Lassiter High School in East Cobb, where she was team captain of the debate and mock trial teams. During high school, Hannah worked for various law firms. And in the summer after graduating high school, she obtained her paralegal certification through the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
Hannah was named a First Honor Graduate for graduating from the University of Georgia with an overall grade point average of 4.0. While in undergrad, Hannah was extensively involved in the legal field, interning at the Athens-Clarke County Public Defender's Office, Athens-Clarke County District Attorney's Office, and a law firm in Marietta, Georgia. Before graduating and attending law school, Hannah interned for the Domestic Policy Council at the White House, where she drafted legal briefs for senior administrative personnel.
In law school, Hannah held many leadership positions, including Editor-in-Chief of Volume 29 of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and co-founder/President of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association (MELSA). Hannah was named a National Online Moot Court Competition Champion and coached the winners of the following year’s National Online Moot Court Competition. She was also designated as a UGA Law Judicial Clerkship Fellow and externed twice for the Honorable Steve Jones in the Northern District of Georgia.
In addition to her extracurriculars, she dedicated most of her time in law school to UGA Law's Wilbanks CEASE Clinic, representing survivors of childhood sexual abuse and exploitation in civil litigation and juvenile court dependency matters. She assisted CEASE with Harvey v. Merchan, a landmark case decided by the Georgia Supreme Court which interpreted the Hidden Predator Act.
She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and Atlanta Bar Association.
Hannah enjoys writing, weightlifting, and meal prepping. She is fluent in Arabic.
